Album highlight : Georges Aperghis / Teeter-Totter
Georges Aperghis, who is known in France and around the world mainly as a man of music theatre, composes also “purely instrumental music” in addiction to his spectacular theatrical works. He has been consistently producing arioso scenes for voice and ensemble, as well as chamber music. Over the past few years, this last area of his work has once again come into focus—and the present CD brings together three important pieces for ensemble from the past ten years.
The Vienna-based label founded in 1999 by Barbara Fränzen and Peter Oswald is dedicated to the release of new music.
KAIROS is the opportune moment. In antiquity this Greek word designated the felicitous conjunction of the here and now, the propitious and decisive moment when conditions are right for taking crucial action.
Over the past ten years KAIROS has developed a distinctive artistic profile and plans to adhere to it with a sense of purpose in the coming years as well.
