Flamingo explores sound, texture and dynamics. Sometimes verging on the threshold of hearing and at other times engaging in dense layers and waves of sound, the music of Flamingo creates a poetic space in which pure sound phenomena step forth on the eternal backdrop of silence.
Flamingo has performed at festivals and venues throughout Denmark and Germany and will release its debut vinyl on Barefoot Records in early 2016, followed by tours in Europe and the US.
The trio is currently working on the cross-disciplinary project Every Vessel that researches the relationship of sound and sculpture, using custom built software to analyze and visualize music and movement through 3-D printed objects. Vessel will be premiered in Denmark in late 2016/early 2017.
Through a grant from Initiative Neue Musik Berlin (INM), in the fall of 2017, Flamingo will realize the project LOUD in collaboration with sound engineer Roy Carroll. LOUD investigates the perceptual change that takes place, when subtle sound is live-amplified and thus brought to the immediate attention of the audience.
