T e a m H e g d a l finally releases its fourth album, two years after the quartet's Grammy Awarded "Vol 3", where the Swedish pianist comrade Oscar Grönberg was a guest. The same Grönberg contributes to "Vol 4".

Eirik Hegdal is well known for his work with the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra, where he served as artistic director from 2002-2016. Among the projects is the jazz orchestra featuring the great saxophonist Joshua Redman, playing compositions by Hegdal.

Team Hegdal is Hegdal's compositional laboratory in small format. Here, each and every musician gets bigger playroom, and the music is even more transparent.

"Vol 4" receives inspiration from major composers such as Mozart (Prelude/Interlude/Piano/Postlude), Ravel (Among these Trees), Messiaen (Walkin’ of Fury) and Wayne Shorter (Hidden Treasure). But foremost, this is Team Hegdal’s universe.
Speaking their own language, where the compositions serve the musicians great ability to improvise.
Team Hegdal offers a stirring interaction and virtuoso individualism, from well known Norwegian jazz musicians; Ole Morten Vågan (double bass), Gard Nilssen (drums), André Roligheten and Eirik Hegdal (saxophones and clarinets), as well as a Swedish keyboard experience; Oscar Grönberg.
A Team of undisputed jazz trotters will guide you through thirteen customized compositions, released both on CD and LP.
