Brute Force //
- 1. Brute Force (28:11)
Brute Force is ready for an attack on the norm with their debut album; a one-track with 30 minutes of pure energy.
The three band members have been playing together in several different constellations in the last couple of years. The thought of joining forces and forming an avant-garde noise improv trio came first in 2013.
“We started out as an acoustic trio with double bass, guitar and drums, but the magic didn’t start until Egil brought his electric bass and some chains, turning the acoustic into an electric joyride,” the drummer Ole Mofjell explains.
The music is a riot against normal improvisational forms that takes form in jazz and rock music, as well as a revolt against daily life. It is as heavy, wild and brutal you can get it in a classic trio format.
The album was recorded at Greener Productions during an open day, where an audience could come and watch the recording process. The session was very successful, and managed to capture the true essence of Brute Force’s unique sound, which is exactly what you hear on the record.
