Flamingo explores sound, texture and dynamics. Sometimes verging on the threshold of hearing and at other times engaging in dense layers and waves of sound, the music of Flamingo creates a poetic space in which pure sound phenomena step forth on the eternal backdrop of silence. The trio has performed at festivals in Denmark and Germany and is engaged in developing and performing cross-disciplinary projects that challenge the conditions under which sound is perceived.
In 2016, Flamingo will tour Europe and the US as well as present the new composition LOUD in Berlin and at Copenhagen Jazz festival.
In 2017, Flamingo will be in residence at Kunsthal Nord, Aalborg, Denmark with “Every vessel records and dramatises the history of its manufacture”, a new work where the group will create sculptures derived from daily public performances of their music.
